Your initial appointment will involve a consultation where we go over your health history and primary concerns in detail.
Then we take your tongue and pulse to assess your body’s constitution.
Then we start treatment! This typically involves acupuncture, tui na massage, cupping, and/or electrical stimulation depending on each individual. I always explain next steps of treatment to make sure you are comfortable moving forward.
The acupuncture needles are retained in the body usually for 25-30 minutes - this allows the Qi to flow through the meridians and allows your body to relax - hence the acu-nap!

In TCM, diagnosis involves not only your symptoms, but an analysis of the tongue and pulse. The tongue is a map to your body and provides a wealth of information to help guide treatment plans. We look at the size and shape of your tongue, the colour of the tongue, along with the tongue coating, to assess your internal constitution. We like to look at the tongue each week to gauge how your body is responding to the treatments. Feel free to ask your acupuncturist what they see to better understand your body!
